A 34-year-old man is dead after a crash in Tooele County early Monday morning.
A sedan was traveling west on Interstate 80 when the driver failed to negotiate a curve and went off the road near mile marker 77, according to a news release from Utah Highway Patrol.
The car struck a large sign on the right of the highway about 2 a.m. It then vaulted off a dirt mound and rolled several times, the news release states.
One of the occupants, Scott Newman, of Salt Lake City, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car, according to the release. He died at the scene.
Two other occupants were transported to a local hospital.
UHP is investigating whether impairment was a factor in the crash.
