Darkness looks to be returning to the "Star Wars" universe.
Another trailer for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" premiered Thursday night, set to a soft piano rendition of one of the most famous tunes from the silver screen.
As "imperial flags reign across the galaxy," it looks as if we'll get another chance to see the most notorious bad guy in the "Star Wars" universe Darth Vader.
The Death Star (think pre-Luke-and-Leia kiss, post-Jar Jar Binks) is about to be fully operational, and the upstart Rebellion is working to stop its devastation. A duo ostensibly is sent to gather intelligence on the world-destroying space station.
We know how the saga plays out the film is set between "Revenge of the Sith" and "A New Hope" (originally titled "Star Wars") but this entry to the ever-expanding universe created in the late 1970s seems to be darker and grittier than "The Force Awakens," which was released in 2015.
"Rogue One" is slated for release Dec. 16.
