Two Eagle Mountain teenagers died when their car was hit head-on by a pickup truck on State Route 73 in Utah County early Wednesday morning.

Utah County Sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon said the teens were eastbound near the intersection with the Ranches Parkway at 1:53 a.m. when the westbound Ford F-250 pickup drifted across the center line and collided with their Ford Focus.

Dead at the scene were the car's driver, Hailie Leeann Godfrey, 18, and her passenger, Simon Olsen, also 18.

Cannon said the pickup's driver, 20-year-old Tanner Jace Evans, also of Eagle Mountain, was treated at the scene for a minor head injury.

All those involved were wearing seat belts, Cannon said.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation, though there was no immediate indication of drugs or alcohol being factors, Cannon said.
