The insect world meets the acrobatics of Cirque du Soleil in the famed troupe's latest touring arena show, which will arrive in Utah for seven shows in February.

The new show, "OVO," will be performed seven times, from Feb. 22 to 26, at the Maverik Center, 3200 S. Decker Lake Drive, West Valley City.

The show (the name of which means "egg" in Portuguese) takes place in a colorful ecosystem of insects, who are awestruck and curious when a mysterious egg appears among them. When a gawky insect arrives in the bug community, he catches the eye of a fabulous ladybug.

The cast of "OVO" features 50 acrobatic performers from 12 countries. Among the highlights is a flying act, in which a group of scarabs fly high over the stage. The show is helmed by writer/director/choreographer Deborah Colker, the first female director of a Cirque du Soleil production.

Shows are at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, Feb. 22-25, with a Saturday matinee at 4 p.m. Feb. 25, and two shows, 1:30 and 5 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 26.

Presale tickets are on sale now for Cirque Club members. General tickets — ranging from $29 to $135 — go on sale Friday, Oct. 28, at Smith's Tix.
