ABC has announced the 30 women who will compete for the affections of "The Bachelor" in the upcoming season, and — as seems to be the case more often than not — there's a Utahn among them.

Briana Guertler, 28, a registered nurse who lives in Salt Lake City, will get her bit of television fame when Season 21 of one of TV's phoniest "reality" shows premieres on Monday, Jan. 2, at 7 p.m. on ABC/Ch. 4.

The women will be competing for the affections of Nick Viall, who was the runner-up on Seasons 10 and 11 of "The Bachelorette." He also appeared in Season 3 of "Bachelor in Paradise," so this is clearly becoming a career for him.

(Actually, all of this has already happened. Season 21 of "The Bachelor" began production in September and ended in November.)

Viall is a somewhat controversial choice to be the next "Bachelor." The fact that he slept with "Bachelorette" Kaitlyn Bristowe became a major storyline during her season of the show; he also revealed that he slept with "Bachelorette" Andi Dorfman during her season.

According to realitysteve.com — which has a history of being extremely accurate when it comes to "Bachelor" spoilers — Viall has slept with at least seven women from the "Bachelor/Bachelorette" franchise. Maybe more.

How will Briana fare on "The Bachelor"? Do you really want to know?

The Utah woman reportedly doesn't last long. She's not anywhere near the finale.
