Prep football: Bingham coach John Lambourne named finalist for national Coach of the Year

After leading Bingham to a perfect 14-0 record and the Class 5A state championship this season, John Lambourne is one of six finalists nationwide for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Coach of Year.

The winner will be announced during the All-American Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 6.

The other coaches, in alphabetical order are: Elijah Brooks, DeMartha Catholic (Md.), Gabe Infante, St. Joseph's Preparatory (Pa.), Bruce Rollinson, Mater Dei (Calif.), Kenny Sanchez, Bishop Gorman (Nev.) and Thomas Wilcher, Cass Technical (Mich.).
