Utah natives Derek and Julianne Hough are planning to take their show on the road again in 2017. And for the second year in a row, they're planning a stop in their home state.
The Houghs, who rose to fame on "Dancing with the Stars" and have moved on to starring roles in "Grease Live!" (Julianne) and "Hairspray Live!" (Derek), will perform their live show Move Beyond Live on Tour on June 7, at the Eccles Theater in downtown Salt Lake City. And they're promising a production with staging and choreography different from what they performed at the Maverik Center in 2014. According to the siblings, the upcoming tour will draw inspiration from the four elements earth, wind, fire and water as an exploration of the human relationship with nature. The Houghs will be joined by the Move Company Dancers for group performances in styles that include ballroom, tap, salsa and hip-hop.
"There is nothing like performing onstage in front of a live audience and this show is going to be like nothing we've done before," Julianne Hough said in a prepared statement. "For those that have been before or will be experiencing the show for the first time, it will transport them beyond their wildest imaginations and expectations."
The siblings' 2017 tour will run from mid-April to mid-June, with stops scheduled in 48 cities from New York to California.
