Here's what's being talked about in pop culture:

• A historic Best Picture win for "Moonlight" at last night's Academy Awards is overshadowed by the crazy error that, for a moment, gave the prize to "La La Land." [The Salt Lake Tribune]

• At the box office, Jordan Peele's race-relations horror thriller "Get Out" topped the chart with a $30.5 million haul. [Box Office Mojo]

• Bill Paxton died over the weekend at the age of 61. The versatile actor had a slew of credits, including "Aliens," "Tombstone," "True Lies," "Apollo 13," "Twister," "Titanic," "A Simple Plan," "Frailty," "Edge of Tomorrow," "Nightcrawler," and his starring role as the polygamist patriarch in the HBO series "Big Love."
