The U.S. Bureau of Land Management invites the public to three meetings next month to help determine the issues considered in a plan for agency lands in the Cedar City area.

The Cedar City Resource Management Plan will set policies on 2.1 million acres of southwestern Utah for the next 15 to 20 years. The plan covers, among other issues, transportation, recreation, wildlands, species management, wild horses, cultural resources and renewable-energy development.

The agency will conduct scoping meetings, all from 5 to 8 p.m., on Dec. 7 in Cedar City at the Festival Hall Convention Center, Room 7, 96 N. Main; Dec. 8 in Beaver at the Beaver Public Library, 55 W. Center St.; and Dec. 9 in Salt Lake City at the Main Library, Room 4, 210 E. 400 South.

The BLM also will continue accepting comments through Dec. 27, online at, by phone at 435-865-3011 or by mail at BLM Cedar City Field Office, 176 E. DL Sargent Drive, Cedar City, UT 84721.
