The Utes were thought to be out of such possibilities when they lost Kim Tessen and Sabrina Schwab to injury earlier this year.
But Saturday's dominating performance put the Utes in the mix after their compelling performance, leading from start to finish.
The win is Utah's third Pac-12 title, with the Utes also winning in 2014 and 2015.
MyKayla Skinner, who earned a 10.0 on the floor against Stanford, did it again Saturday. Her perfect score was the highlight of a night in which she won the all-around with a 39.725.
Skinner also scored 9.875 on bars, 9.9 on beam and 9.95 on vault.
She joins Pac-12 all-around champions Corrie Lothrop (2012), Tory Wilson (2014), Georgia Dabritz (2015) and Breanna Hughes (2016) for the Utes.
The only disappointment was Shannon McNatt, who suffered an injury on the vault when she landed hard, scoring 9.325.
The showdown with the UCLA Bruins never happened as UCLA suffered several breaks to never contend for the title.
UCLA had breaks on the bars, beam and floor that were uncharacteristic of the Bruins, especially given the way they finished the regular season.
The Bruins did well enough to climb to No. 3 in the rankings since losing to Utah four weeks ago.
But the Bruins were far from perfect Saturday, while the Utes could do little wrong.
The Utes opened the event with a 49.425 on bars with Kari Lee and Missy Reinstadtler scoring 9.9s to lead the way.
But the Utes made their big move on the balance beam, where Kari Lee, Baely Rowe and Skinner all scored 9.9s to help the Utes score 49.4.
Utah led with 98.835 while Washington had a 98.7, Oregon State had 98.675 and UCLA had 98.1.
With the confidence of the beam behind them, the Utes rolled through their last two events to capture the championship.
The Utes totaled 49.625 on floor, led by Skinner's 10.0, while Reinttadtler, Macey Roberts and Rowe had 9.9s.
UCLA posted a 49.575 on the beam and Washington continued to put up solid numbers, but both were far enough behind that they needed the Utes to fold.
Utah was having no such thoughts of a collapse as it finished on the vault, a strong event for it.
The Utes finished with a 49.475, led by 9.95s from Skinner and Tiffani Lewis.
R The Utes win their first Pac-12 title since 2015 with a season-high score.
• The Utes finish with three 9.9s on the balance beam to take a significant lead in the meet.
