Aside from "Hobo With a Shotgun," no movie at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival has a more self-descriptive title than "Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same."

Writer-director Madeleine Olnek's take on '50s monster movies tells of three lesbian aliens who come to Earth in a mission to save their home planet. How would they do this? "To have their hearts broken by earthlings so their overactive emotions won't destroy the ozone of their planet," says the festival's film guide.

The teaser trailer has the campy black-and-white feel of an Ed Wood movie, with a flying saucer that looks like two Sara Lee coffee-cake tins hit with a Bedazzler.

The movie plays in Sundance's Park City at Midnight program.
