Multi-faceted James Franco got some attention the recently completed 2011 Sundance Film Festival with his installation piece, "Three's Company: The Drama."

Now Franco is taking that concept to another venue: Off-Broadway.

Franco told MTV that he is developing a theatrical version of his installation piece, but it may be a couple years down the road.

"When we came [to Sundance], then the 'Three's Company' people contacted us like, 'What's going on?' " Franco told MTV News. "So we had a talk with them, and they realized what we're doing is a cool thing. ... They were like, 'Yes, we've been trying to figure out ways of bringing it back in some form or another. We want to do more projects with you.' "

The installation played in the New Frontier section of the Sundance Film Festival, both in Park City and at the Salt Lake Art Center. The Salt Lake version of New Frontier reopens today for an extended run, which goes through March 25.
