With a big summer as an NBA free agent ahead of him, at least one Jazzman is hoping to see his fans come through with a billboard asking him to stay.
No, not Gordon Hayward, whose impending free agency has a group of fans taking up collection for a http://www.sltrib.com/sports/5143626-155/utah-jazz-fan-seeks-to-fund";>super-sized "Stayward" sign somewhere in Salt Lake. We're talking, of course, about swingman Joe Ingles.
"I'm waiting for my own billboard," the Aussie joked Thursday after being asked if he planned to contribute to the campaign for Hayward. "I'll donate to my own billboard GoFundMe."
Ingles' billboard would need a catchy phrase to match Staywards, though the guy people call Jingles and Slo-Mo Joe felt confident somebody would come up with something.
"The amount of nicknames … Utah has given me over the last three years, I'm sure we could think of something," he said with a laugh. "I'll donate a couple bucks into it."
The Internet being the Internet, a few people have some suggestions.
