Utah and fast food are, it seems, a match made in business-school heaven.

The logic goes something like this: Utah has big families. Big families eat a lot. Ergo, Utah families need a lot of cheap food.

That formula is apparently working for the Del Taco chain, which announced Tuesday it would open 13 more locations in Utah. (The local franchise holders, Paul and Jane Hitzelberger, currently run 24 Del Taco locations in Utah.)

"Utah loves quality with value, and our menu hits that," Paul Hitzelberger, a former Del Taco executive, told the Orange County Register. "We're kind of a cult restaurant concept here, like In-N-Out."
