A new, family-owned creamery specializing in artisan cheese and raw milk has opened in Midway. Heber Valley Artisan Cheese and Heber Valley Milk are both located on the 400-acre Canyon View Farm, bordering the Provo River
Owner Grant Kohler will hold a grand opening May 23-28 to introduce customers to his new products. There will be free samples of fresh and aged cheeses as well as raw milk. Fresh ice cream will be available for purchase.
During the week, the public can tour the facility and see where specialty cheeses like mozzarella, queso fresco, pepper jack and Juustoleipa (a Finnish squeaky cheese) are made and aged. Tours also will include a look at how raw milk is bottled.
The creamery is located at 920 North River Road in Midway. Open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
