Austin Waddoups is officially a Division 1 prospect, after receiving an offer from Cornell of the Ivy League.

This tweet from teammate and Utah State commit Quincy Bair basically sums it up:

"My boy Austin Waddoups picked up his first D1 offer yesterday! That makes 3 D1 guards at AF!"Evric Gray, the coach of Waddoups's AAU team, the Salt Lake Rebels, confirmed the offer in a text message to The Tribune's Tony Jones.

At his best, the 6-foot-1 Waddoups was the third option on last year's American Fork team, one loaded with Bair and Marcel Davis, both who have already committed to become Aggies after next season. Waddoups averaged eight points per game last season for the Cavemen, the 5A state runners up, and was regarded as one of their biggest 3-point threats.

Last season, Cornell finished 10-18. Before that, the Big Red won three consecutive Ivy League titles and in 2010 reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
