The NBA and NBPA have tentative plans to meet during early August. The gatherings are expected to include a small group of owners, players and league representatives, and will mark the first official bargaining sessions since owners locked out players July 1.

The sides have held two informal meetings since the work stoppage occurred. Talks have been limited to system-based issues such as free agency and player-movement rules, though, and have avoided economic topics.
