To the surprise of absolutely no one, "The Playboy Club" became the first casualty of the 2011-12 TV season.

The show's fate was obvious as soon as it debuted. The premiere drew only 5 million viewers; that number had dipped to 3.2 million by Monday's third and final airing.

Various advocacy groups are trying to claim credit for killing the show, but it wasn't the protests that did "The Playboy Club" in. It was the numbers. Or, rather, the lack of ratings numbers.

Which means that KSL is back on the NBC train on Monday nights. Channel 5 had refused to air the show because it didn't want to be associated with the Playboy brand.

NBC has announced that it will air repeats of another of its struggling shows, the violent police drama "Prime Suspect," on Mondays at 9 p.m. on Oct. 10, 17 and 24. "Rock Center with Brian Williams," a newsmagazine, is scheduled to take over the time slot on Monday, Oct. 31.

As for KSL's "We Are Utah" experiment, the locally produced show is off Channel 5's prime-time schedule.
