A pair of teenage counselors at a camp for children with diabetes have been charged with misdemeanor lewdness.

According to charges filed in 3rd District Court, Samuel Olsen and Jordan Corliss, both 18, were naked and "acting out sexual positions" and "drawing attention to themselves" while in a shower room with younger boys at the camp in September.

The counselors used "sexual language and terminology," while together in a shower stall, the charges state. At one point, one of the counselors stood nude in front of a 13-year-old and "stuck his buttocks" into a stall where another 13-year-old was showering, the charges state.

When the alleged lewdness took place Sept. 9, Corliss and Olsen were working as counselors for the Foundation for Children and Youth with Diabetes, which was hosting the camp in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

On its website, the foundation said it has "fully cooperated with authorities regarding this alleged incident" and would not be commenting further until the matter had been resolved.

The foundation had rented Camp Tuttle from the Episcopal Diocese of Utah and had provided its own staff, officials said.

"It wasn't our program at the time," said Craig Wirth, spokesman for the diocese. "We are saddened to hear and read of any mention of lewdness toward children, and our thoughts and prayers are with the young boys and the counselors."

Olsen and Corliss, both of Price, are scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 12. Olsen faces four counts of lewdness involving a child, a class A misdemeanor. Corliss has been charged with three class A misdemeanor counts of lewdness involving a child, and one class B misdemeanor count of lewdness.
