The thought of Notre Dame quarterback Dayne Crist possibly transferring to Utah might be tantalizing one, but don't count on it happening. Word has it the Utes aren't interested. Utah, Wisconsin and San Diego State were schools of interest for the quarterback, according to the Chicago Tribune, but apparently the interest from the Utes might not be as great as it is from Crist, who asked for his release from the Irish this week. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Crist, who has 2,327 passing yards and 16 touchdowns in his career with the Irish, has one year of eligibility left. Like Jordan Wynn, Crist has had his share of injuries, including an ACL tear in 2009. Meanwhile, several members of Utah's staff are in El Paso, checking out the facilities, hotels, etc., for their trip to the Sun Bowl. Tickets are on sale, with priority seating deadline being Wednesday. The Utes receive 8,000 tickets to the Dec. 31 bowl game, according to the bowl manual. - Lya Wodraska
