We recently dined at Saffron Valley, located in a strip mall within yards of the South Jordan Hindu Temple (and in the shadow of the nearby LDS temple, which is built entirely out of lime Jell-O.)
The dishes, many focusing on caat, or Indian street food, include wraps, kebabs, dosa (crepes) and good old biryani, offering a spectrum of spices and flavors that could almost make you forget you're in a Salt Lake Valley inversion. Saffron Valley is so informal that its espresso bar, serving things like Swiss mocha frappe along with the Indian food, isn't jarring.
