Much of Utah started Tuesday under a winter weather advisory, expecting bench and mountain snowfall ranging from a couple inches to more than a foot along slippery high-elevation travel conditions.
From near Provo running southeast to Green River, south through Price, Escalante, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park and southwest into the Cedar City and St. George areas, wintry weather was expected to be the rule until late Tuesday afternoon. Portions of Interstate 70 and Highways 6, 191 and 12 were expected to be especially hit hard.
Meanwhile, forecasters issued a winter storm warning for the southeastern Utah area of Monticello. Snowfall of up to 5 inches during the day Tuesday and another 4 inches Tuesday night was expected. The warning extended into mid-day Wednesday.
