Here's what's happening in pop culture:

• Hollywood's biggest flops this year included "Mars Needs Moms" and "Cowboys & Aliens." [The Hollywood Reporter]

• Move over, Kim Kardashian — there's a new champ in the celebrity short-term marriage competition: Irish singer Sinead O'Connor, who is ending her marriage after 16 days. [New York]

• Mexican actor Pedro Armendariz Jr., a familiar face in such Hollywood films as "The Legend of Zorro" and "Once Upon a Time in Mexico," has died at age 71. [AP, via The Washington Post]
