Trump slashes social programs in proposed budget. Chaffetz delays questioning former FBI director. New Utah political party offers a centrist choice.

Happy Tuesday. President Donald Trump may have run a populist campaign, but his proposed budget accords with established conservative policy — likely hurting those who voted him into office the most. Trump's proposal slashes social programs, including cuts to farm subsidies, student aid and Medicaid. Though the budget has no chance of becoming law — as Congress will write its own — the measures show the president's priorities.
