Attorneys Anthony C. Kaye and Steven D. Burt of the Salt Lake City office of Ballard Spahr were recognized for their pro bono work and presented with the Distinguished Pro Bono Attorneys award the by Utah Legal Services, the Utah State Bar, the Pro Bono Initiative and the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah.
Richter7, a Salt Lake City-based advertising and online marketing agency, has hired Kevin VanValkenburgh as associate media director. He has more than 17 years of experience in media management, directing automotive, retail and restaurant clients, while managing media budgets exceeding $100 million annually.
Timothy Baumann has joined EPG as director of biological services for the Intermountain region. EPG provides environmental planning, permitting and landscape architecture services to all levels of government, private industry and Native American tribes. EPG has eight offices in six western states.
Debbie Engebretsen and Linda Rino have joined the board of directors at the Utah Chapter of Women in Insurance & Financial Services. Engebretsen works with New York Life and has been in the industry for three years. Rino has 23 years in the banking industry, working for Zions Bank as a vice president and branch manager. Amber Dixon has been named chapter president, while Vicki Tu'ua has moved into the past president role.
Ken Burnett, vice president and director of business development and training at Bank of American Fork, was named one of the state's Sales and Marketers of the Year in the January issue of Utah Business magazine. Burnett was recognized for leading a team of business development officers that have contributed to the bank's performance during the recession, including increasing loans, deposits and new customers.
Blake K. Wade, a public finance attorney with the law firm of Ballard Spahr, has been named managing partner of the firm's Salt Lake City office. He succeeds Blaine L. Carlton, who retired. Wade, a Utah native who joined Ballard Spahr 24 years ago, has served as chair of the firm's public finance department for the past 11 years.
Three attorneys have joined the Salt Lake City law firm of Kirton McConkie as associates. Analise Wilson has joined the firm's litigation, trials and appeals and alternative dispute resolution sections. She is a 2011 graduate of the J. Reuben Clark Law School Brigham Young University. Dallas Rosevear has joined the firm's business section. He is a 2011 graduate of the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. Jed Brinton joined the firm's First Amendment and religious organizations section. He is a 2011 graduate of the Yale Law School.
Rich Hazel has been promoted to vice president at Big-D Construction in Salt Lake City. He will work with the construction company's light commercial group.
