Two women were hospitalized after a single-car crash in Little Cottonwood Canyon Sunday morning.

The vehicle, which had three female occupants, was headed up the canyon at about 8:15 a.m. when it hit a patch of black ice at the bottom of Seven Turns, said Lt. Justin Hoyal of the Unified Police Department. The car spun off the road and headed down an embankment for about 80 feet before hitting a large rock.

The front-seat passenger was flown to Intermountain Medical Center in serious condition with a head injury. The driver was taken in an ambulance to IMC in good condition. The other passenger was uninjured.
