The Tribune relives the heady days of the 2002 Winters Olympics in pictures — with a daily gallery from the torch relay to the Opening Ceremony, from Team USA's medal haul to the fireworks-filled finale.

Feb. 12 • While figure skaters Jamie Sale and David Pelletier of Canada speak to the media and the International Skating Union launches an investigation into the wildly controversial results in the pairs competition, American speedskaters Casey FitzRandolph and Kip Carpenter win gold and bronze in the men's 500 meters, and France's Carole Montillet wins the women's downhill.
