Boise music fest in March features Built to Spill, of Montreal, WHY?, The Cave Singers, Typhoon, Blitzen Trapper

The inaugural Treefort Music Fest will take place in downtown Boise March 22 - 25, it has just been announced.

More than 120 bands will perform at eight venues with one act, the John Steele Singers, making the trip from Brisbane, Australia. Other names include Built to Spill, of Montreal, WHY?, The Cave Singers, Typhoon, Blitzen Trapper, AraabMUZIK, Delicate Steve and EMA. The full lineup is available at www.treefortmusicfest.com/press. "Treefort Music Fest brings yet another cultural, art-focused musical event to Idaho, adding to an already extensive list and giving visitors another reason to visit the Treasure Valley," said Karen Ballard, administrator of the Idaho Division of Tourism, in a press release. "Boise's music scene has tremendous energy with a variety of restaurants and clubs showcasing a variety of local, regional and national artists."General admission wristbands cost $79, and can be purchased on the festival's website, www.treefortmusicfest.com.

Proceeds from the festival will benefit Radio Boise, a non-commercial, community radio station.Fans can win two round-trip tickets to Boise on Alaska Airlines from the U.S. cities the airline serves (including Salt Lake City). The winner will also receive two (2) four-day festival passes. Fans can enter the contest by visiting www.treefortmusicfest.com/alaska-airlines-ticket-giveaway and signing up before 10 a.m. MST on February 27.
