An Idaho man is facing a theft charge, accused of stealing a suitcase from the Salt Lake City International Airport's baggage claim.

The 46-year-old Pocatello man took the bag from the carousel on Feb. 12, according to charging documents filed Friday in 3rd District Court. Surveillance cameras captured him grabbing the suitcase, and when the victim saw the images he said the man was also in the Delta baggage claim office when he reported it missing.

The bag and its contents are valued at $1,718, according to charging documents.

The alleged thief left in a car belonging to his brother, who was also with him at the airport. Airport police located the man's wife, who found the bag and returned it to its owner, though it was in "poor condition" and missing several things, charges state.

The man was charged with one third-degree felony count of theft, and a warrant was issued Friday his arrest.
