SLCC opens league baseball play

The No. 17-ranked Salt Lake Community College baseball team opens Scenic West Athletic Conference play Friday and Saturday when it meets College of Southern Nevada in Henderson.

The 9-2 Bruins play Friday at 1 p.m. and Saturday at noon against Southern Nevada, which is 13-3.

In softball, the No. 2-ranked Bruins will be taking the week off after beating College of Southern Nevada four times over the weekend. Their next game is at Snow College in Ephraim on March 9 and 10.
