The Salt Lake Bees started their homestand by giving up three home runs, but they hit one of their own and were able to squeak out a 7-6 win over the visiting Las Vegas 51s in front of an announced 6,405 at Smith's Ballpark on Monday night. The Bees have now won four of five.

The Bees scored all seven runs with two outs, including a Matt Williams three-run home run to cap a four-run fourth inning. Cesar Puello went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs, while Dustin Ackley (1 for 1, three walks) and Tony Sanchez (1 for 3) also drove in runs. Puello has gone 7 for 15 with three doubles and three runs scored in three games since joining the team as a free-agent signing.

Turning Point • The Bees scored the go-ahead run in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Puello. Rey Navarro scored on the play after having hit a two-out double to set the table for Puello.

Bees MVP • Navarro went 2 for 3 with a walk, a double and three runs scored.

Quoteworthy • "We've [spent] a lot of years together," said Puello, who began his professional career in the Mets organization with many of the members of the opposing team on Monday. "It's fun to see [them] and play against them."

Angel Angle • Former major league starting pitcher Doug Fister will start for the Bees on Tuesday. Fister, who has pitched for the Mariners, Tigers, Nationals and Astros, signed with the Angels on May 20. The Angels sent relief pitcher Damien Magnifico to the Salt Lake on Monday. The addition of Eric Young Jr. to the major league roster had left the Bees short-handed in the outfield, but the signings of outfielders Michael Bourn and Cesar Puello necessitated Bo Way being sent down to Double-A Mobile.

History lesson • Cesar Puello and Jefry Marte, both recent additions to the Bees roster, were both signed by the New York Mets as international free agents. They were both in the Mets' farm system from 2008 through 2012. Both also played for current Las Vegas 51s manager Pedro Lopez.

What's next • The Bees will continue their four-game series with Las Vegas at Smith's Ballpark on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. —
