Five people were injured after a teenage driver apparently ran a red light causing a seven-vehicle crash on Monday, Ogden police reported.
The 18-year-old driver was westbound on 12th Street at about 5:50 p.m. Monday when she failed to stop for a red light at the Harrison Avenue intersection, said Ogden police Lt. Shawn Hamblin.
Hamblin said the teen's Hummer collided with a Dodge Caravan that was southbound on Harrison. The Hummer then veered into eastbound traffic and collided with a 2012 Honda CR-V and a Subaru Outback. At that point, Hamblin said, the Hummer went airborne and collided with a Ford F-150 pickup. The impact pushed the Ford backward into a 2011 Mini Cooper. A Chrysler Concorde was also struck by one of the vehicles involved in the ensuing mayhem.
