Say good-bye to those clear skies and warm temperatures because rain and possibly snow are all most Utahns are expected to see through this weekend.
The National Weather Service said starting Wednesday afternoon, there's a good chance of showers and thunderstorms statewide. By Wednesday night, Salt Lake City residents have a 60 percent chance of seeing rain and some thunderstorms. On Thursday, those odds were expected to increase to 70 percent. Many parts of the state particularly residents in northern Utah and the Cedar City area could even see some snowfall starting as early as Wednesday.
The Utah Avalanche Center said a "moderate" chance of slides remained for all of Utah's mountains except the Moab, Logan and Manti Skyline mountains, which were not rated Wednesday morning.
