A beautiful spring day was forecast for much of Utah going into the mid-week under sunny, mostly clear skies.
The National Weather Service predicted high temperatures near 80 degrees on Wednesday along the Wasatch Front, up a few degrees from Tuesday's equally idyllic forecast in the mid-70s. To the south, the mercury was to climb to near 90 degrees Wednesday, five degrees higher than Tuesday's forecast under skies expected to produce scattered rain showers.
Air quality statewide earned a "Green" or good grade from the Utah Division of Environmental Quality.
Salt Lake City's high Wednesday was pegged at 80 degrees, up from the 74 forecast for Tuesday; Ogden looked for 78 and 73, respectively; Provo 81 and 77; Logan 77 and 74; Wendover 81 and 73; Duchesne 78 and 70; Cedar City 78 and 72; St. George 91 and 85; and Moab 82 and 76 degrees.
