A North Logan charter school is the best high school in Utah, according to a new ranking by U.S. News & World Report.

The magazine ranked 22,000 public high schools in 49 states and the District of Columbia based on students' proficiency in math and reading, how well they prepare students for college as measured by Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate test data, and other factors. Based on those criteria the magazine ranked the top 10 public high school in Utah as:

1 • InTech Collegiate High, North Logan

2 • Davis High, Kaysville

3 • Timpanogos High, Orem

4 • Academy for Math, Engineering and Science, Salt Lake City

5 • Pleasant Grove High, Pleasant Grove

6 • Logan High, Logan

7 • Itineris Early College High, West Jordan

8 • Cedar City High, Cedar City

9 • Mountain View High, Orem

10 • Panguitch High, Panguitch

Of those 10 schools, the magazine ranked two among the top 500 in the country, with InTech ranking 318th nationally and Davis ranking at 462. The magazine ranked InTech as the 46th best charter school in the country.
