Plans for tonight: Music of the Sahara

• Tinariwen, a collective of artists from the southern Sahara, performs at The State Room, 638 S. State St., Salt Lake City. Opening act: No-Nation Orchestra. Show starts at 8. Tickets are $20, at the State Room website.

• Comedian Maria Bamford performs at Wiseguys Comedy Club, Trolley Square, 505 S. 600 East, Salt Lake City. Show starts at 9. Tickets are $20, at the Wiseguys website.
