LCD Soundsystem was no average band, and the movie about the band's final show, "Shut Up and Play the Hits," is no average concert movie.

So it should be unsurprising that the movie - which debuted at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival - would have an unusual release plan.

Oscilloscope Pictures has announced the movie will play in theaters nationwide for one night only, on July 18, at more than 100 theaters around the nation (with more to come) - including the Tower Theatre in Salt Lake City.

Tickets in some cities go on sale today.
