A woman and her son remained in critical condition Tuesday, the day after the motorcycle they were riding was struck by a small SUV in St. George.
St. George police Capt. James Van Fleet said the crash occurred about 7:20 p.m. Monday at the intersection of 200 North and 100 West. Investigators determined that the northbound Chevy HHR crossover vehicle, driven by a 63-year old woman, ran a stop sign and struck the motorcycle driven by 42-year old Anita Haven, of St. George. Haven's 12-year-old son was riding behind her.
Both the mother, who was not wearing a helmet, and son, who was wearing a helmet, were first taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center and then flown by helicopter to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nev., suffering from head and body trauma, Van Fleet said.
