Here is a review I gave for Church's most recent album "Chief":
PopTop: Country singer Eric Church is 'Chief' on new albumCD » Most of the world doesn't know who Eric Church is, but country fans do, and this outlaw is about to get a lot more popular. He is an observant songwriter he co-wrote 10 of the album's 11 songs and his rasp is warm and honest, with a wry sense of humor, like when he sings about a lost love: "She got a rock, and I'm gettin' stoned / Damn right I've got objections but it's awful too late now." Highlights include "Springsteen," which isn't so much about The Boss but idyllic memories of being 17. Grade » B
