Rodeo: Feild, Jesse Wright hit jackpot in Reno

Reno—Two Utah cowboys hit the jackpot during the $488,000 Reno Rodeo, which concluded Saturday night. Reigning world bareback champion Kaycee Feild of Payson won the second round, tied for fourth in the final round and tied for first place in the average. He pocketed $8,983. In saddle bronc, Jesse Wright of Milford won the first round, tied for second place in the second round, shared fourth place in the final round and placed second in the average. He earned $8,851. Nancy Hunter of Neola fared well in barrel racing. She was the runnerup in the second round and finished fourth in the average to earn $4,997 during the week-long rodeo. In bull riding, Chris Roundy of Panguitch tied for sixth place in the first round and ended up eighth in the average. He earned $1,476. In steer wrestling, Tom Lewis of Lehi finished second in the opening round. His effort was worth $3,585. Clint Robinson of Spanish Fork placed sixth in the same round, which earned him $1,165. In team roping, Rhen Richard of Roosevelt and Jake Cooper of Monument, N.M., tied for third in the first round. They each earned $3,011.
