Wasatch Community Gardens has planned some "fowl" activities this Saturday, June 30.

It all starts with the Early Bird Brunch and fundraiser at Squatter's Pub Brewery, 147 W. 300 South. For $15, guests can enjoy breakfast burritos made from locally-laid eggs (pictured here), bottomless coffee and juice and a chance to win prizes. Seatings available at 9 a.m.; 9:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. All the proceeds benefiting garden programs.

The brunch helps kick off the 7th annual Tour de Coops event that runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests can purchase tickets for $10 (or $20 for group up to 6) and take a self-guided tour of urban chicken coops throughout Salt Lake City.

It's an opportunity to see unique coop designs and ask questions about how to raise your own chickens. It is also a great way to see vegetable gardens, xeriscape/native gardens, permaculture practices, and other serious urban homesteading.
