The concert/backstage documentary "Katy Perry: Part of Me" is definitely for the fans. It's also likely to turn you into one.

The new movie (opening today nationwide) follows Perry on her worldwide "California Dreams" tour, as she sings her hits and makes myriad costume changes in a candy-colored spectacle. It also shows the hard work Perry and her crew put in to make the show happen.

Backstage, we also see Perry's devotion to her inner circle — most of whom were the people who knew her before she became a megastar. And we see her efforts to set aside time for her fledgling marriage to comic Russell Brand, and how that strain took its emotional toll on her.

The movie shows Perry's love for her fans, both with her regular backstage meet-and-greets and with the friendly vibe of her concert performances.
