Bank of the West has added three private-client advisers to its Wealth Management Group in Salt Lake City. Mary Beth Riemondy has been named team market leader. Bill Smedley brings more than 20 years of banking experience working in the consumer, commercial and private banking arenas. He will focus on developing lending and deposit solutions for high-net-worth clients. Robyn Martinez has worked in the financial services industry for the past 25 years and has more than 22 years experience working with wealth-management clients.

Perry Clegg, former chair of the cyberlaw section of the Utah State Bar, has organized a new law firm focusing on intellectual property and litigation. CLEGG, P.C. will initially be supported by two additional Utah patent and trademark attorneys. Clegg also was recently elected secretary of the intellectual property section of the Bar.

Dentist Michael Bennett of Orem has been presented with the Mastership Award by the Academy of General Dentistry, a professional association of more than 37,000 dentists. The award was presented in recognition of Bennett completing more than 1,100 hours of continuing dental education. He received the award at the AGD's annual meeting that was held earlier this summer in Philadelphia.

Bret Hortin has received the new Chartered Special Needs Consultant designation. He is a financial-services representative with Intermountain Financial Group LLC, a general agency of the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. The company, in conjunction with The American College, created the designation to better prepare financial-services professionals to help families with special needs plan for their children's futures.

Anthony Musci, a board-certified internal medicine specialist with more than 20 years of experience in Utah, has joined Internal Medicine of Salt Lake, a member practice of Physician Group of Utah. Musci earned his medical degree at Loyola University of Chicago, which was followed by an internship and internal medicine residency at LDS Hospital.

Scott Powers has been hired as an associate attorney with the Salt Lake City-based law firm Snow, Christensen & Martineau. His practice emphasizes construction litigation, insurance law, professional and products liability, and general civil litigation.

C.R. England, a Salt Lake City-based trucking company, has announced that Brian Shaw has joined the company as director of maintenance operations-East region. Shaw has experience in maintenance management working for various transportation companies. Martha Bertrand has joined C.R. England as director of on-road maintenance operations. Bertrand previously worked in the private-fleet sector of the transportation industry and has a background in operations and transportation management. Dave Ferrara has been promoted to director of corporate recruiting. He previously served as Internet marketing manager. Ferrara has been with C.R. England since 2009. David Hill has joined as a training coordinator. Hill previously worked in human resources for an automotive company and is a graduate of Weber State University. Spencer Brown and Chad McKee have joined as driver managers–national ops. Brown previously worked for a manufacturer of residential garage doors and is a graduate of the University of Phoenix. McKee previously worked in the film industry and is a graduate of Dixie State College.

The international law firm of Dorsey & Whitney has added a trio of experienced trial attorneys to its Salt Lake City office as partners. Bryon Benevento, Dan Larsen and Kimberly Neville had previously been partners with Snell & Wilmer. Benevento's practice focuses in the areas of commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation and products liability defense. Larsen focuses in the areas of product liability defense, medical malpractice, commercial litigation and government law. Neville is focused in the areas of product liability, health care and commercial litigation.
