The Olympics open on Friday evening with - what else? - the opening ceremonies.

Bob Costas, Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira will anchor the coverage, with reports from Ryan Seacrest and Tom Brokaw.

(When did you think you would see Seacrest and Brokaw in the same sentence, let alone the same broadcast?)

We're promised that we'll see all 200-plus flags enter the stadium.

Elsewhere on Friday ...

MLS (7 p.m., Ch. 30): Vancouver Whitecaps at Real Salt Lake

Lost Girl (8 and 10 p.m., Syfy): Bo makes a startling discovery.

Common Law (11 p.m., USA): When their mentors are called in, Wes and Travis see each other differently.

Elsewhere on Saturday ...

NYC 22 (7 and 8 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2): CBS burns off more episodes of this failed cop show.

Jack and Jill (10 p.m., Starz): Adam Sandler plays male-female twins in this dreadful comedy - one of the worst films of 2011.

Elsewhere on Sunday ...

Big Brother (7 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2): The houseguests in danger of elimination are chosen.

Masterpiece Mystery! (8 p.m., PBS/Ch. 7): Inspector Lewis investigates the murder of an American academic.

Breaking Bad (8, 9:36 and 11:12 p.m., AMC): The guys put their business plan into action; Walt confesses to Marie.

True Blood (10 p.m., HBO): Sookie and Jason visit the site of their parents' deaths.

The Newsroom (11 p.m., HBO): Will suffers from insomnia; Sloan jeopardizes her career

Political Animals (11 p.m., USA): Elaine announces her plan to run; Garcetti hatches a plan.
