Team USA is one win away from its 17th medal in men's basketball and two wins away from its 14th gold. And the Americans remain the prohibitive favorites.

In the semifinals (2-4 p.m., NBCSN/NBC basketball channel), they face Argentina,- a team they beat 126-97 on Monday.

In the other semi, it's Russia vs. Spain (10 a.m.-noon, NBCSN/NBC basketball channel).

• Italy upset Team USA in men's volleyball on Wednesday, meaning the Americans won't repeat as gold medalists. The semifinals feature Bulgaria-Russia (8-10 a.m., MSNBC) and Brazil-Italy (NBC Primetime, 7-11 p.m., Ch. 5).

NBC PRIMETIME (7-11 p.m., Ch. 5): Gold-medal finals in track and field relays and BMX cycling; a men's volleyball semifinal; qualifying in men's platform diving.

Taekwondo (6-6:30 a.m., NBCSN): Gold-medal finals in several weight classes.

Boxing (6:30-9 a.m., NBCSN): Semifinals in men's light flyweight, bantamweight, light welterweight, middleweight and heavyweight classes.

Men's water polo (9:40-10:45 a.m., NBC/Ch. 5): Semifinal - Montenegro vs. Croatia, which knocked the Americans out of medal contention. The second semifinal, Italy vs. Serbia, airs in NBC Late Night (11:35 p.m.-12:35 a.m., Ch. 5).

Men's swimming (11:15-11:30 a.m.; 12:30-12:45 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5): Marathon

Synchronized swimming (11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5): Team gold-medal finals

Women's field hockey: Bronze-medal match - Great Britain vs. New Zealand (noon-1:30 p.m., NBCSN); gold-medal match - Argentina vs. Netherlands (4-6 p.m., NBCSN)

Men's soccer (12:30-2:30 p.m., MSNBC/NBC soccer channel): Japan vs. South Korea for the bronze medal. (The gold-medal game between Brazil and Mexico is on Saturday.

Rhythmic gymnastics (12:45-1:45 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5): Qualifying

Wrestling (1:45-2:30 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5): 55kg and 74kg gold-medal finals
