For all of those fans of "The Lost Boys," here is a song from Jimmy Barnes and INXS from the soundtrack that isn't about much more than the title indicates: "Good Times."
Memories of this song are two: 1) I once had a crush on a girl named Mary, and this song reminds me of one of those young crushes;
2) This is the song that was playing from some boombox inside the inner cemented quad right after I graduated from being a freshman into a sophomore at the Coast Guard Academy. We were with our new shoulderboards signifying our new rarefied status, with our seabags at our side, ready to be wisked away to a waiting Coast Guard summer for summer training. The ensuing summer sucked, but at least I was a third-class cadet, rather than one more sad tale from a fourth-class nothing.
