After shooting for four months in five states, "The Lone Ranger" is almost (!) done.

That's the word from mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who wrote about the grueling shoot on his blog. (He also included some photos, like the one above taken in Monument Valley.)

The action-Western, starring Armie Hammer ("The Social Network," "Mirror, Mirror") as the masked lawman and Johnny Depp as his Indian companion Tonto, is completing shooting in California right now. That's after shooting in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Utah — with shooting near Moab completed in mid-July.

The movie is slated for release on July 3, 2013.
