Skool Lunch, the small Murray-based chain of sandwich shops with four locations in the Salt Lake valley, has quietly closed its doors.

The company announced on its website that after 30 years in business, the economy and changes in the food industry have required it to shut down.

It said the all Skool Lunch locations were out of business as of Friday. A sign with similar wording was posted at the Skool Lunch location on South Temple in downtown Salt Lake City.

Attempts to get in touch with the company's owners were unsuccessful. Telephones at the individual stores and the company's headquarters were disconnected.
