The Vinnedge's fulfilled his dream of restoring a 1951 Chevy truck complete with murals honoring him, his family, his military colleagues and those lost on September 11, 2001. Lance Cpl. Vinnedge's parents now travel and display the truck in memory of their son. They will be in Camp Pendleton Sept. 13, 2012 to show the truck to his son's platoon. Phillip was deployed with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment to Afghanistan and on October 13, 2010 Phillip was driving the lead vehicle on a security patrol with Lcpl Victor Dew, Lcpl Joe Rodewald and Cpl Justin Cain when a large IED was remotely detonated killing all 4 instantly.
