A 58-year-old man died from a medical issue Friday when he was driving on Interstate 15.

Several people called 911 about a passenger car that was driving erratically on northbound I-15 about 4:15 p.m., said Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Cameron Roden. Callers said the man appeared to be slumped over the wheel, Roden said.

The car hit a wall and a delineator post before it came to a stop partly in the right shoulder of the ramp leading to westbound Interstate 80. Medical personnel arrived and tried to revive the driver, but he was dead.

It was not immediately clear what the man died from, Roden said. UHP withheld the man's name Friday night pending family notification, but did say he was a from Aurora, Colo.

The man was the only person in the car.
